Announcing a new publication—Routes Vol. 1—a poetry-art-story anthology about TheBus in Hawaii.

Who rides TheBus? Where are their “roots” and what “routes” do they travel? What does it mean for our roots and routes to intersect?

These are some of the questions taken up by the new publication—Routes Vol. 1—a poetry-art-story anthology about TheBus in Hawaii that features exciting new work by UH students and graduates (Eva Enriques, Kai Gaspar, Gizelle Gajelonia, Emelihter Kihleng, Jolie Takazono, Tanya Torres, and Ryan Oishi), previously published favorites from celebrated local writers (Eric Chock, Lisa Linn Kanae, and Rodney Morales), and excellent stories and essays by professional news and magazine writers (Chad Blair and Mike Leidemann).

Join us for an informal party to celebrate our book launch on APRIL 13, 2010 at THIRTY-NINE HOTEL bar and lounge in Chinatown, 5:30-7:30 pm. Admission is free and guests welcome. We’ll have plenty of books and drinks for sale! The program will feature readings and commentary from a selection of our writers, artists, designers, and editors.

    Hope to see you there!
